History

  • 1972: Presses universitaires de Grenoble is founded by Grenoble researchers mainly from the Université Pierre Mendès-France (humanities and social sciences) in the form of a cooperative limited company;
  • 1978: Editions littéraires et linguistiques de l’Université de Grenoble (ELLUG), publishing department of the Université Stendhal (literature and humanities), is founded ;
  • 1994: Grenoble Sciences, department for the accreditation and copy editing of works in the exact sciences of the Université Joseph Fourier (sciences), is founded ;
  • 2010: At the instigation of the Université Stendhal, exchanges, meetings and discussions are organised to bring the various publication facilities of the site closer together ;
  • 2016: the 3 Grenoble Universities are merged – the Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) is founded, and it receives an Excellence Initiative (IDEX) which the project to unite the publishing facilities is part of ;
  • 2017: UGA Editions, is founded from the merger of the University's two publishing departments, ELLUG and Grenoble Sciences.
