Institutional support
The Excellence Initiatives (IDEX) is an Investment for the future instrument. , the aim of which is to create word-class multidisciplinary higher education and research groups in France.
As such, the "IDEX Université Grenoble Alpes" programme was accredited in 2016. The development of strong university presses with a multidisciplinary and innovative editorial policy falls under the "Social and cultural outreach" component of IDEX.
A number of establishments in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region have their own university presses which play a major role in disseminating and promoting research. The region, through its Directorate for Higher Education and Research, is supporting the initiative to strengthen ties that the Grenoble, Lyon and Saint-Etienne university presses have begun to establish, in order to organise exchanges of experiences and carry out joint actions.
